Since a place within the top 8%

Since the beginning I have been enticed into knowing the functions of a computer. The amazing things we can accomplish using computer knowledge have always baffled me. Ever since I first operated computers, I’ve been mesmerized and intrigued by the solutions offered and the way they operate. The rapid speed at which the developments are taking place in the field of computer over the past few year bewilders me and it is quite evident that there is still vast scope for development in the years to come.I believe that a graduate degree in this field would widen intellectual my horizon and add fuel to my interest in the aspects which encompass all the wavelengths of the technical spectrum, thereby leading me on the path of a fulfilling and enjoyable future. My very first encounter with programming started right in the vacations of 8th standard, when I experimented with the basics of html. It left me baffled, how changing the smallest line in my code, would result in a completely different  structure of the webpage. As I completed it, the inner me wanted to learn how to make it a bit more pleasing, this steered me into learning CSS. My hobby developed into my passion which in turn developed into my motive. I improved my coding ability by learning a few more simple languages such as C and Java in my spare time. This curiosity and inquisitiveness have lead me onto the path of computer science. After that I wrote my eamcet entrance exam for getting into an undergraduate college. By achieving a commendable rank in the eamcet entrance exam I was given the opportunity to select Computer Science and Engineering course at Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology, one of the top colleges  affiliated to the prestigious Osmania university. Through the course of my four-year Undergraduate studies, my interest for the subjects enabled  me to secure a first class result and distinction with an aggregate of 76.07% in the final two years, which helped me secure a place within the top 8% amongst 120 students. I acquired a comprehensive perspective of scientific discipline, with a specific interest in Object Oriented Programming. Other than the theoretical subjects, the lab programs such as C/C++ , Java and PL/SQL acted as a catalyst to my desire of understanding to the maximum. I was able to to put into practice what I learnt in my theoretical classes, which is the reason why I was able to achieve 92% in my programming practical labs. I believe that theoretical work alone is of negligible use unless and until it is accompanied by practical knowledge. As my undergraduate course progressed, my interest to learn more was quite visible through my academic growth. Software Engineering, Compiler Construction, Computer Networks and Database Management System were some of the other subjects which grabbed my attention in my pre-final year. My keen interest in those subjects helped me in securing 75.45 % in my pre final year. However in my final year  Information Security, Artificial Intelligence, and  Distributed Systems were the areas that fascinated me the most. Beside my undergraduation program, I developed my programming skills by finding real life applications which can be subsequently used in daily life, for instance I started learning android development, which lead us into creating an android application which got substituted as the college website that can be used to access any  information ranging from college history to the latest updates about our college. This project was awarded second prize in the Innovatia Panoply Event conducted annually in my college. It was highly appreciated by my Head of Department, Dr. Moiz. In addition to this during my final year, I worked with a team of two others to develop a major project “Dynamic auditing for cloud data”, which was based on java JDBC/ODBC technology. The project enabled me to increase my proficiency in integrating Java to databases. In addition to developing my java skills, I also gained knowledge about writing database client that connects to a relational databases  to execute SQL statements and then to process the extracted result. Consequently, active participation in a number of extracurricular activities made sure of the all round development of my personality.  On various occasions I attended seminars, workshops and even participated twice in the National Level Hackathon conducted  in our college. I was even a member of one of the most prestigious student organisation of my college, IEEE Computer Society wherein I was given an opportunity of implementing the latest technologies in their workshops.Owing to of my coding skills as well as the projects I had done in the past, I was made the webmaster of my student branch in the final year,  when I hosted and updated the IEEE website of our college, Beside that I hosted sites for IEEE events which took place. I wish to expand my comprehension of Computer Science  and use this knowledge to further enhance my chances of obtaining a prosperous career in Software. Canadian education system is Internationally known for providing the best education. Pursuing graduation in Canada  will  provide not only a greater gamut of professional skills but also a much wider global perspective. Having a strong foundation in Computer Science I hope will enable me to achieve  a master’s degree of a university where my thirst for knowledge will meet fruition and where I will be given an opportunity to work with the latest technologies. Therefore, I am applying to join Master of applied computing program offered by the University of Windsor in the fall of 2018. University of Windsor caught my attention in view of the fact that the courses offered in the program and, particularly advanced software engineering and advanced database are the key areas of my interests. The in-depth course, Advanced computing concepts, taught by Dr. Luis Rueda, will allow me to acquire a clear understanding of the computers. Being taught those subjects  by the experienced faculty of the University of Windsor will help me attain my career goals and lead me to a successful career. I am optimistic that my exposure to such manoeuvre will augment my knowledge and thereby enable me to attain my professional goals successfully. I shall be grateful to you if I’m given with the covered opportunity of pursuing  my graduate studies in the University of Windsor. With respect to my future goals, I intend to absorb what I will learn  in Canada and apply it to the Computer Science Field  in my country, India.
