Nebraska Correctional System Services cares for over 4,000 inmates. Most of these inmates are not in prison for life. It is unknown how many additional prisoners are housed in county jails. They are released after a few weeks, months, or years, whether state or county prisoners. It is essential that they receive proper treatment physically, mentally and emotionally that will not cause harm to themselves or others because soon they will reenter society and be able to get jobs. The law also requires such.
