Life Without Internet Essay

What would happen if the Internet completely disappeared? We seldom feel how much internet has affected our lives as it has become almost a daily routine to use it. Imagine if your connection at home has been down for a few days. It would be a bit difficult to manage. Life without the Internet is an everyday scenario for most of the world. To me, life without the Internet is fine and of course, livable, but not much informative. Information are everywhere around us. The developed whole world is addicted to info. The Internet simply makes it easier to consume info.

We feel more full when we have a healthy serving of news, documentaries, and blogs. we crave information, especially the kind that is full of tender, juicy insight. The idea of being Internet-less is hard for us to imagine nowadays. Think back to the late 1990s and early 2000s when the main vehicle for getting access to the Internet was dial-up. Do you remember the days of America Online and CompuServe? Let’s take a look at possibly what life would look like without high-speed Internet. First, let’s take a look at the telephone.

Imagine still being stuck with copper telephone and being forced to deal with the local telephone company at uncompetitive prices. The advent of Internet has completely changed the way that people use telephones. Calling family or parties out of the county would still be at unbearably high per-minute fees. ! Businesses that operate in multiple locations would have a much higher cost of communicating across their organization to get things done. Wonder about the vast number of companies whose day-to-day business is conducted online, and what would happen if for some reason the whole Internet suddenly ceased to work.

The effects would be extremely far-reaching, for example; a substantial amount of daily business communication is conducted via email, the loss of which would severely disrupt and significantly slow down the companies who rely totally on this media to send and receive information where speed is of the essence. Other parties to be considered are the private individuals who sent a number of emails for job opportunities. It would be a bit difficult in going and searching for jobs by feet.

Secondly, the mailing systems like Gmail, yahoo and many more yet to come Think back to the past, where internet or cellphones were not even a thought yet. Imagine how the early people used to write letter and sent it, which took a lot of time even days to reach the receiver. Now internet facilities had replaced it. We only need some minutes or seconds to send ant it reach the receiver within seconds. The Internet is not the only place we indulge in info. There are also books, newspapers, magazines, signs, people, and even places that can satisfy our information needs.

We want our information hot and ready when we want it, so we rely upon internet which is quick. An information addict can get a fix from all kinds of everyday stimuli, but when you’re addicted to fast information, you are out of luck without a connection. Literally, we could live without Internet, but technically we couldn’t. Our lives are controlled by the internet. Businesses connect via the internet for meetings vital to the company. The Internet keeps the world connected, and by losing the Internet, the world’s connections to each other will be lost.
